It is the start of a new year, and that’s always a good time to look back at the last. 2017 was a big year for Wt: we released Wt 4, our shiny new website, and went to CppCon, where I talked about our transition to modern C++.

As always, we’ve also added more features to Wt, like:

We hope that 2018 will be just as interesting. We will kick off 2018 with an introduction to Wt 4 talk at FOSDEM.

Where would you like to see us take Wt in 2018? Let us know in the comments.

It was mentioned some months ago in a bug report discussion that WEB API support would get some attention. Wt, primarily being a server-side framework, should provide as much as possible to ease API development.
Another improvement area may be the management of static resources starting with cache managemement. It should be possible to change the cache validity duration of static resources, e.g. for CSS files used by Wt themes.
